Kangaroo, Inc., Now called Punch Networks, Chosen as Seybold San Francisco 98 Show Hot Pick
SEATTLE, August 31, 1998 - Punch Networks Corp. (formerly Kangaroo Inc.), a networking solutions software company, announced today it has been chosen by the Seybold Editors as a show Hot Pick for the Seybold San Francisco 98 tradeshow which takes place September 1-4 at Moscone Center. Punch Networks' first product, Punch WebGroups, was chosen as one of the 25 products "not to miss" at this year's show. Punch Networks can be found in the Adobe Partner Pavilion at booth #1013, under the name Kangaroo.

"This is our first public display of our new product and we are ecstatic about being chosen as a show Hot Pick," said Punch Networks President & CEO. "The Adobe Partner Pavilion is a wonderful avenue to gain exposure for us and we hope the tradeshow attendees will be as enthusiastic as the Seybold editors."

Punch Technology
Punch WebGroups incorporates the company's patented technology into a Web-based client/server solution, providing users with an easier and more secure way to share files with people inside and outside of their organization.

Administrators initially create a virtual collaborative network (VCN) in which company employees and business partners collaborate and share files using their existing Web browser. Creators of the files then manage group members and file rights. To share files with group members, Punch WebGroups users simply publish a file to their secure URL address. Additional group members can then subscribe to published files and will be automatically notified of any changes to files to which they have previously subscribed.

Punch WebGroups incrementally updates any type of digital information, including all office files - such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and even graphics files, CAD files and databases - directly to each Punch WebGroups user's desktop, via the web browser. Punch WebGroups extracts, sends and stores only the changed information within a file, which can substantially free-up bandwidth use and decrease download times.

Additionally, users can save unlimited versions of a file without having to rename and save the entire file each time. Users always have one full copy of the most recent version of a file and can easily "roll-back" to previous versions by simply clicking on the desired version. Punch WebGroups will reintegrate the data to create a complete file.

Punch WebGroups is slated to ship in January 1999 and carries a suggested list price of $4,995 (includes web-server, 10 publishers and unlimited subscribers). Volume Pricing is available.
