CenterBeam Adds Punch WebGroups to its Small Business Service Offerings
Service to debut in Project Management Category of CenterBeam MarketPlace™
SEATTLE, Wa, June 22, 2000 - Punch Networks, a leading provider of outsourced file storage and collaboration services, announced that CenterBeam will offer a co-branded version of Punch's Web-based file storage and collaboration service, Punch WebGroups, to its small and mid-sized business customers. The service is available as CenterBeam WebGroups in the Project Management category of MarketPlace on www.centerbeam.com.

CenterBeam has developed a revolutionary new way to look at computing. CenterBeam provides a complete IT infrastructure for small and mid-sized businesses to take the hassle out of dealing with computers. For a monthly fee, CenterBeam provides its customers with Dell PCs and laptops, local Dell servers, HP printers, Windows 2000, a Lucent wireless network and high-speed DSL Internet access.

"Punch Networks' Web file storage and collaboration service provides a terrific addition to our MarketPlace(tm) program by allowing our customers to share files and resources to work more efficiently," said Jeremy Kmet, strategic relations partner program manager at CenterBeam. "By providing an architected environment to our customers to make the Internet work for them, we are enabling Punch to focus on making the Internet perform optimally for their customers."

Punch WebGroups is a secure file storage and collaboration service, which includes version tracking, audit trails, access controls and change notification. The service gives users anytime, anywhere access to their personal and shared files. Importantly, WebGroups' patented technology automatically notifies users when files change or are updated, then sends only the changes between file versions, rather than the whole file, ensuring the fastest possible uploads and downloads. Small and medium sized businesses currently use WebGroups as a virtual private network for file collaboration with employees, partners and customers, as well as for backup and offsite data storage needs.

"CenterBeam is fulfilling an area of the market that has long been under-served by technology and service firms," said the president and CEO of Punch. "Their corporate philosophy matches ours - to deliver software and services to companies that need big company IT functionality but don't have the internal resources or the budget. Our partnership with CenterBeam will help us extend our reach to small and medium-sized companies."
