How do I use the Sync Engine's Windows "System Tray" icon?
System Tray Icon: Identifying the Sync Engine in your System Tray
Whenever the ElectraDrive Sync Engine is running an icon will be visible in the windows system tray (located in the bottom right corner of the screen).
System Tray Icon: Activity Indication
There are 4 possible icon states that could be displayed:
icon
state
appearance
Initializing
a flashing icon
Synchronizing with or Downloading from server
blue icon rotating clockwise
Synchronizing with or Uploading to server
green icon rotating counter clockwise
Idle - Monitoring for local changes and awaiting next Sync Interval
a non animated icon
Also by placing the mouse cursor over the icon will display a tip indicating the current state. To see examples of these accticity hints, hover your mouse over the icons in the table above.
System Tray Icon: Context Menu
A context menu will be displayed when the right mouse button is clicked while the mouse cursor is over the tray icon. The context menu will be displayed regardless of the state the engine is in.
About
The About dialog provides some basic information about the ElectraDrive Sync Engine. The version of the engine is provided as well as a link to the Punch Networks web site.
Documentation
Selecting this item will open your Web Browser to our expanded and updated Sync Engine area on our Web site.
Settings
The Settings dialog provides a way for a user to view/change how the engine functions, including synchronization interval, activity log, Home Directory, and Authentication Settings.
Stop
Signals the engine to stop running.
Note: If the engine is currently synchronizing, the engine won't stop until it is completed.
Synchronize
Signals the engine to synchronize now. This can be done if either manual or periodic synchronization is used. Synchronize is the default action the engine will take if the tray icon is double clicked.
Note: When using manual synchronization, this is the only way to keep items synchronized
