What's New in Sync Engine 4.1
|
|
Based upon popular demand and requests from you, we have made the following changes/additions to our Punch WebDrive Sync Engine.
|
1
Better Access to Documentation - We have a new "Documentation..." menu option available from your Sync Engine's right-mouse-click context menu. Selecting this item will open your Web Browser to our expanded and updated Sync Engine area on our Web site.
|
2
"Keep File Versions" Setting - By default, your Punch WebDrive Sync Engine will retain all previous versions of your files on the server - which you can access by logging into the Web Interface to your Punch WebDrive. If you do not want to automatically keep all previous versions you can un-check this "Keep File Versions" box.
IMPORTANT!
If your change this setting, be sure to change it on all of your computers that are synchronizing with your WebDrive account. |
3
"Sync Events" counter - Under normal operation, your Sync Engine should always be running, even when you are not connected to the Internet. This is important so that the Sync Engine can detect any changes made to your Sync Engine Directory (such as a new or updated file). In between Sync Intervals, your engine will "accumulate" important Sync Events which are waiting to be communicated to the server. After each Synchronization, this Sync Events counter should always be reset to zero (0).
|
4
"Make New Folder" option - If you decide to change the default "Home" directory that synchronizes with your Punch WebDrive account, the "Browse for Folder" dialog now has an additional option to allow you to create a new folder, instead of only being allowed to select an existing folder. For more information about changing your "Home" directory, please see Resetting or Re-Homing your Sync Folder.
