Punch WebGroups Features

Punch WebGroups enables individuals and entire organizations to improve communication and increase efficiency and productivity through smarter file collaboration.

Going beyond simple Web file storage, Punch WebGroups has basic document management features such as version tracking, member tracking, access controls and change notification to make collaborating with and updating others easier for everyone.

Project teams, lawyers, architects, design professionals all can use WebGroups to increase quality of work while reducing cycle times for document creation, review and production.

Several of Punch WebGroups' noteworthy features include:

Punch WebGroups 4.0: File Version History"One Click" Updating
Upon selecting a file, immediately see if you have the most current version. If not, you are only one click away from updating your local file to the most current version.

Through the use of our exclusive patented "relimiter" technology, we actually only download the bytes which have changed in the file, instead of the entire file - saving bandwidth and dramatically decreasing download time.

Version Tracking
Punch WebGroups 4.0: File Version History Never loose track of previous versions of important files. Files stored within Punch WebGroups retain a complete version history. Each file's version history provides a complete audit trail of who made what changes and when. Previous versions are always just a click away

Share files with anyone on the Internet
Punch WebGroups 4.0: Member Listing Invite anyone on the Internet to share the files in your WebGroup. Simply enter their e-mail address, and our servers take care of the rest - sending them an e-mail, which includes their own private Login ID and Password, and instructions on how to access WebGroups to see the files you have shared with them. Additionally, you can always see which version of a file they have received and when they received it.

User Management and Authorities
With Punch WebGroups you can set each member's authority to determine what features are available to that member. We have several levels of authority including:
  • "Manage" or Read/Write/Delete/Invite
  • "Publish" or Read/Write
  • "Subscribe" or Read Only
  • "Limited" or no authority (member cannot see or interact with the item or its contents)
When inviting a new member to a WebGroup, these authorities become that member's default authority for all files and folders contained within that WebGroup. You can adjust each member's authority later on a file-by-file or folder-by-folder basis.

Folder and File "Locking"
Punch WebGroups 4.0: Locking Members with appropriate authority can "lock" a file to prevent anyone else from editing it. Furthermore, when a project reaches a specific milestone a manager can lock an entire folder, and all of its contents. This prevents any unauthorized changes, additions, or deletions.

E-mail change notifications
Whenever someone in a WebGroup modifies an existing file or uploads a new one, all of the other members of that WebGroup are automatically sent an e-mail to notify them. This email includes information regarding the changes made, who made them, and quick instructions to access or retrieve the file(s). Members can also disable e-mail notifications on a file-by-file basis or for an entire WebGroup.

Inline "Thumbnails" and automated Slide shows
